I hope I have the connection problem the right way round Trev - you need a C19 high power socket on the cable to fit the amp? The IEC C19 is rated at 16 amps maximum. The "standard" IEC C13 is rated at 10 amps maximum. Obviously they are physically different to prevent one being inserted into the wrong socket. If your new power lead has a plug that isn't moulded on then dismantle it and fit a new C19 plug to it - they have the same connection layout. If it is moulded on then cut it off, strip the insulation back and fit a C19 plug. This is a cheaper option than buying a whole new cable to fit. I wouldn't worry about the cable thickness because I suspect the Isotek cable can easily carry 20+ amps without distress.

Brilliant cheers Rob i'm learning all the time I didn't know the difference in amperage between them and I hadn't even thought about just changing the plug on the Isotek lead that i have "DOH" Looking at some nice plugs at MCRU as we speak I might just treat my new amp to the Isotek EVO3 gold plated C19 plug decisions decisions . What are your thoughts regarding which C19 plug to buy? Cheers The Isotek Evo 3 is an excellent mid-priced well made connector. The wide body, large cable inlet aperture and big connection points makes it a doddle to fit too, whereas something like the Martin Kaiser is a very snug fit for larger gauge cables. Rob

I agree that the big bodied IEC connectors are so much easier to fit and they look nicer too. Not that it matters when it's unseen in normal use LOL

Cheers for that Rob Looks like it's the EVO 3 plug then. Did you get the Evo 3 plug Trev?

Finally got round to putting the EVO3 plug on my amp Isotek mains cable today It's a nice, easily fitted plug and fits into the amp socket very tight and snugly so all in all i would give it a 10/10 It's a good plug Trev and that large body makes fitting a real doddle too. Enjoy your sounds
