My latest rant is about jobs. To be precise, applying for jobs. I have sent out roughly 150 job applications in the past month and the responses back fall into two categories. 1. The "We expect a tremendous response to our advert, so if you don't hear from us within 28 days you have been unsuccessful" email/letter. Thanks. What it should say is "We are too bone f*ck*ng idle to bother to compile a simple email with multiple recipients to the unsuccessful candidates" or, "We only get paid for the idiot we have recruited, so the rest of you can get stuffed". Now an email like that takes only a few minutes to compile AT MOST and cost absolutely NOTHING to send, so why do they treat people with such dismissive derision? 2. Nothing. Zilch. Nada. Off it goes, your email with an up to date CV, a well composed and detailed covering letter and what do you get back? SFA is the answer. I would like any one of these clowns to treat me like it in a face to face situation, so why do they believe it is acceptable to do that via the internet? The internet us a wonderful thing so don't get me wrong, but it is a great way NOT to communicate with people. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I think my signature sums it up rather well. Like you say, why do these morons (because that's what they are) think it is acceptable to treat PEOPLE in that way is simply beyond my understanding. I have long felt there should be a website naming and shaming these people so that public humiliation might shame them into treating others as they themselves would like to be treated. FFS It isn't rocket science!!

Actually got a couple of rejection emails this morning - shock, horror. The usual crap about "we have found candidates that match our profile more closely". No you haven't, you have found better liars that sat there and copied word for word your advert and candidate profile into their CV, whereas I never do any of that because the desirable skills and experience are all there if they actually bothered to look, but not camouflaged or obfuscated in any way. Busking is getting to look a better option than going through this nightmare all the time

You are dead right Trev, it really is no fun at all when you get treated the way you do by potential employers. I have had years of it now and it really is getting on my goat just lately for sure so my patience is fast running out. Had an interview a few weeks ago where this turkey rang me up at 3.30pm for an interview at 5.00pm 25 miles away, so I dropped everything, drove like a lunatic to get there on time, spent 45 minutes waiting for him to finish another interview. The interview went really well I thought and he promised to let me know the outcome - whatever the decision. Never heard from the bozo since. That is truly insulting
