I will presume that you already have Dark Side of the Moon? If not it's a must have SACD  Sony released an Ultimate Collection SACD double with some great tracks. Got me into Roger Waters  War of the Worlds has been re-issued and remastered on SACD Nick Drake, Treasury Most of Bob Dylan's stuff is out on SACD Go on ebay and head for the music section and type in SACD in the search bar. That will keep you entertained for a while on it's own LOL |

Just ordered Nick Drake Treasury sacd It's a good listen provided you are in the right mood. I usually listen late at night when I've had a good day, then it sounds great. Put it on when you are in less of a cheerful mood and it almost makes you want to open a vein because it sounds a bit moribund LOL |

Also I have just bought my first jazz cd The Dave Brubeck Quartet Time out on SACD I have to say i'm very impressed I have already ordered some more jazz SACDs Miles Davies and Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane and some more Dave Brubeck looking forward to them being delivered When I had a turntable I had a copy of Dave Brubeck's "A cut above" direct cut recording on limited edition vinyl. The drum solo on Take 5 was stunning  |

Happy birthday Trev I only have a couple of SACDs, both by Mark Knopfler. Shangri La and Golden Heart I think. I am more into direct cut recordings by MFSL and Sheffield Labs. The best of these is James Newton Howard and Friends on Sheffield Labs which will really put your system to the test. WARNING don't turn the volume up too high with track 4 otherwise your speakers will do a runner   |

Evening Pete It has not turned up yet once i have it i will let you know my verdict James Newton Howard is actually a prolific composer who has written countless film scores, listed HERE It's a shame though that none of them really stands up on their own as individual albums without the film to support them, yet there are snippets that would made a great CD if strung together in one collection. The "and friends" album is a showcase specially produced for Sheffield Labs with some of the best session musicians around like the Porcaro brothers. Well if you do enjoy "and friends" then I would suggest another Sheffield Labs disc by Dave Grusin called "Discovered Again: ![]() ![]() ![]()  I don't think it's quite as ballsy as JNH's CD but it is very well recorded nonetheless with some good music. Grusin is another prolific film score composer with a long list of film scores to his credit. |

Evening Pete It has not turned up yet once i have it i will let you know my verdict Just listened to James Newton Howard & Friends and I have to say it does sound great the jury is still out on my favourite track though.I am still having trouble getting my head round how good my system sounds now since i upgraded the amps it amazes me every time i turn it on with a recording of this quality it sounds out of this world i did have it turned up reasonably loud and at no stage did the speakers try running away not even on track 4 which pleases me Verdict Most impressed I suspected you would like it Great recording with no compression or other effects added so it does allow your system to let the handbrake off Enjoy |
