I like classical music in small doses so I have a couple of "Best of . . . " CDs and that meets my needs. I usually pick up one or two in charity shops

Glad someone has mentioned jazz.
In one of my charity shop visits or boot sale trips I picked up a jazz CD called "Jazz Moods" which is a compilation of various artists.
Can't say I like all of the tracks but it has Take 5 by Brubeck, Birdland by Weather Report and Morning Dance by Spyrogyra, all of which I like. All of the tracks are very well recorded even though I might not particularly like the artist or the song, so I play the entire CD for the joy of listing to such good recordings.

Seems we have more interest in jazz music than classical, so need to start a jazz section

i have been lent a couple of CDs titled classical music for people who hate classical music when i get my amp back from Arcam i shall give them a listen Now this is one item I really would like some feedback on! What a brilliant title for CDs too . . . . "Classical music for people who hate classical music". It's not that I HATE classical music per se, it's more to do with not knowing what is good listenable classical music that doesn't drone on . . . and on . . . . and on . . . . endlessly. The few that I do like I never know what the heck it's called and who it's performed by, so at least that would help me to avoid the stuff that grinds along at a snail's pace.
