How did you get on with your Entreq ground box demo yesterday Dave? Pretty much the same experience as you Trev. I could hear a clear difference between the box not connected and when it is connected. A deeper sense of "blackness" whereby the contrast between silence and music seemed a lot more vivid and defined, so that the music is more expressive and refined. I would equate it on a par with changing from a cheap power cord to a top flight power cord. I do have a couple of reservations at the moment however. Firstly, it was being demmoed on a system that without doubt costs considerably more than mine and in an environment that isn't my own, with music I was not familiar with. With the benefit of hindsight I should have taken a couple of CDs I am very familiar with. I have asked for a demo with it in my own system at home so I properly evaluate what it does and so therefore whether I can justify the outlay before deciding.

I believe it was the Tellus Copper, not the basic or the Silver versions. I have no idea what cables were used to connect it all up and like a real idiot I didn't ask too many questions either, mainly because I expect those answers during the set up at my own home without interruptions rather than in a busy shop on a Saturday. It was all set up very quickly and was left to my own devices most of the time, hence why there was no way I was going to get my cheque book out there and then anyway. I will be much happier having the demo at home and will be able to make a valued judgement and the answers to my questions much quicker than I ever could do during that last rather rushed demo in the shop. When it comes to haggling over price, I am fairly adept at getting the price down to where I think it's reasonable Trev . I don't expect or demand a huge discount because the dealer has already put himself out once for me and will do so again when he does the home demo, so these guys need good business to stay in business. Most people these days know the price of everything but the VALUE of nothing, so it's a case of striking a balanced deal where I am happy and the dealer is happy too.

Yes I heard the Copper Tellus aswell as the Silver Tellus luckily I had a much better more relaxed demo and they were very attentive too,I could not of asked for more in my demo actually. I am interested in hearing how you get on with your dealings with the Entreq ground boxes I have in front of me a brand new silver Tellus ground box and 3 Entreq ground/eartha cables waiting to be tried but unfortunately I have sent my amp back to Arcam to have a small niggle rectified so I have new toys to play with but no amp I feel like my left arm has been cut off That is the law according to Sod I'm going to be very interested Trev how the Entreq system is going to interact with your Isotek conditioners when you finally get to play with it all Any idea how long your amp is going to be out of action?

I also wish I was clever enough to understand exactly how these “MAGIC” Boxes and cables work but one I thing I do know is my ears in no uncertain terms tell me they REALLY really do work So, so, so pleased that the Entreq box is giving you much pleasure Trev At the end of the day none of us need to be "clever" enough to understand how anything works because the text I have highlighted in bold from your post actually says it all and nothing else matters to you. It is not important either that we *need* to know what's inside the Entreq box becuase that sound quality is the only result that matters to us consumers
